LANCING Football Club boss Martin Gander is looking forward to taking on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Sussex Senior Cup next week.
Lancers entertain Albion at Culver Road on Monday evening (7.45pm kick-off) in the third round and Gander said: “It’s a plum tie for us and, with no other games on Monday evening, hopefully, there will be a big crowd.
“We played them here in pre-season but this will be totally different as there’s something riding on the game.
“Both sides will want to win it and we will be doing our best. You’ve got to be realistic, though, and it’s the hardest draw we could have had. But we’ll be going out there to give it our best shot and we’ll see what comes out of it.”
Albion, who are likely to field their development squad for the game, won 3-0 at Lancing in a pre-season friendly. They knocked Worthing out in the second round, when they won 2-0 at Woodside Road.
Striker Shaheen Sadough is back available for Lancers but Kit Tregear and Max Miller are cup-tied.
Entry to the game on Monday will be £6 for adults, £4 for concessions and £2 for under-16s.
Before that, Lancing host local rivals Worthing United in County League Division 1 on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
