LANCING Football Club picked up their first win of the season in County League Division 1 with victory at Selsey on Tuesday.

Lancing began well and went a goal up after just two minutes when Ollie Davis slotted home a Naim Rouane cross. It was 2-0 just eight minutes later when Marcus Robertshaw smashed the ball home from the edge of the penalty area.

Selsey pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time, through James Kilhams, to mount hopes of a comeback.

However, Robertshaw bagged his second of the game to make it 3-1 when he latched on to a Will Conway pass just before the hour.

Lancers boss Richard Whittington said: “We could have easily won by a bigger margin but I’m really pleased with how the players are playing at the moment.”

Lancing host Mole Valley in the FA Vase on Saturday, then travel to Selsey in the Peter Bentley Cup on Tuesday.

LANCING: Shaw; Fenton, Hendy, Bygraves, Spinks; Davis, Mills Rouane, Conway; Robetshaw, Williamson. Subs: Finney (Williamson), Knowles (Robertshaw), Bowra (Rouane), Phillips, Adams.
