Rebels move back into play-off places
Steve Davies netted Rebels' opener against Chipstead.
WORTHING Football Club moved back into the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off places on Tuesday evening (February 21) after a 2-0 win over Chipstead.
The win extends Rebels’ unbeaten run to nine matches and delighted Worthing boss Chris White, who said: “It was a very good performance and I’m really pleased with it.
“They were the form side in the league but we were outstanding.”
Steve Davies pounced to give Worthing the lead on 19 minutes, with his second goal for the club, after Chipstead keeper Martin Grant had parried Ryan McBride’s cross-shot.
Rebels had several other chances throughout the match but their second goal came on 55 minutes when McBride set up Jamie Brotherton, who placed the ball into the bottom corner for his 14th goal of the season.
