Rebels win at Whyteleafe

WORTHING Football Club scored twice in the final 16 minutes on Saturday (January 7) to win 2-0 at lowly Whyteleafe in Ryman League Division 1 South.

Steve Davies went close in the first half when he hit a post, before Glen Woodburn got the opener on 74 minutes.

Darren Budd then sealed the win with seven minutes left.

Worthing remain just outside the play-off places in sixth despite the win but now trail fifth-placed Maidstone, who drew 1-1 at Godalming, by just a point and have a game in hand.
