WORTHING Football Club joint manager Lee Brace is delighted with the way his side’s pre-season preparations are going.
Rebels are yet to sign any players on but will doing so in the next week and among those signatures are set to be two of Brace’s top summer targets.
They started pre-season training last Tuesday and Brace reported an excellent quality of attendees, which could give the Rebels management a selection headache in the coming weeks.
He said: “Pre-season is shaping up really well. There are good numbers and lots of new faces at training.
“We are hoping to sign the majority of the squad on before the Crystal Palace game next week (Saturday).
“It’s going to be an interesting squad selection.
“I’m delighted with the players we have got training with us and there are still a couple who we are without.”
Despite reports from Horsham manager Simon Colbran that Jamie Brotherton has signed for the Hornets, the striker has told Worthing he will return to training tonight.
Brace added: “Jamie Brotherton has said he’ll be at training on Thursday as he has been on holiday, while Kenno (Paul Kennett) was back training on Tuesday and looking really sharp.”
Former assistant manager Mark Pulling has also returned to the club as a coach, while Nemma Danza, who has links with Brighton & Hove Albion, has also joined the coaching team.
