Worthing Football Club had to settle for a point at home to Walton & Hersham tonight (Tuesday, February 12) after an entertaining 0-0 draw.
The visitors had to play the last 30 minutes with 10 men as Chris Grayland picked up a straight red card for clipping Billy Medlock’s legs just outside the area as the striker ran through one on one.
Rebels, however, despite a lot of pressure in the closing stages, failed to make the extra-man advantage count, and they themselves had Spencer Slaughter sent off for a late tackle on the near touchline in injury time.
In the first half, the best chance went Hersham’s way as Josh James got the slightest of touches on Connor French’s effort to turn it against the inside of the post on 18 minutes.
After the visitors were reduced to 10, Rebels best chance came through substitute Matt Daniel, who headed against the base of the post.
