WORTHING Football Club lost their opening game of the Ryman League South Division season 2-1 away to Faversham Town on Saturday.

Rebels took the lead through a Trevor McCreadie penalty after four minutes, on his competitive debut, before the hosts hit back to equalise on nine minutes and then took all three points with a 89th-minute penalty.

Worthing will look to bounce back when they host Corinthian Casuals in their first home game of the season on Saturday.
