WORTHING Football Club will host Premier League opposition in their opening pre-season friendly on July 13.
Rebels will entertain Crystal Palace, who were promoted from the Championship play-offs last season, with a 3pm kick-off at Woodside Road.
A Palace XI will take on Rebels, whose joint boss Lee Brace said: “At this level, you look to try to get a big team for the start of pre-season to help with running the season ahead.
“Crystal Palace very kindly agreed to do that for us, which we’re delighted with, and we thank them very much.”
As a result of the new fixture, Horndean have moved Rebels’ away friendly with them to the following Saturday, July 20 (3pm).
Worthing then travel to Worthing United on July 23, are at East Preston on July 30, entertain Bognor on August 1 and are away to Shoreham on August 3.
