WORTHING United Football climbed to the top of the County League Division 2 with victory over Mile Oak last night.
The win means United have picked up four wins from their four league games this season, as they sit at the top.
Mavericks manager Nigel Geary was pleased as his side secured another victory and said: “It was a brilliant win for us and the game could not have gone any better.
“Even though we fell a goal behind, I still felt we would go and get the win, as we were dominating the game.
“It was good to return to league action after two tough cup draws against County League Division 1 side’s, so it was good to get back playing against a team of a similar standard.
“We played some decent and caused Mile Oak some real problems.”
United fell a goal behind on 20 minutes when Adam Dine finished.
The Mavericks were not trailing for long, though, as Jamie Stideford headed his side level, just eight minutes later.
Mark O’Regan then fired United ahead three minutes after the break, with a magnificent lobbed finish from 30-yards.
Sam Blundell then got his name on the score sheet in the 60th minute as United went onto seal the victory and go to the top of the table.
