WORTHING Football Club secured their seventh consecutive home victory with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Hythe Town on Saturday.
A last-gasp Mark Knee penalty earnt Rebels all three points in the Ryman League South Division match, although they did it the hard way after throwing away a 2-0 half-time lead.
First-half goals from Will Berry and a stunner from Chris O’Flaherty gave the hosts a comfortable lead, before the visitors hit two goals in six second-half minutes through Shaun Welford and Lee Winfield to level.
Rebels boss Lee Brace said: “A draw probably would have been a fair result, but how many times have we been on the wrong end of results that we should have won? Just like at Whitstable last Saturday.
“Again, we had a very young side out and we keep challenging them, laying down the gauntlet and they are responding.
“We have put in a good display against a very good team here. They are a very experienced side and were in the play-offs last year. We were up against strong players who have all been around a bit.”
