Worthing Football Club went down 2-0 at Corinthian Casuals this afternoon in their opening Ryman League South Division match of the season.

Emmanuel Akokhia raced through on goal before slotting home to give Casuals the lead after just four minutes.

Rebels keeper Rikki Banks made two fine saves in quick succession on 15 minutes, before the hosts doubled their lead on 27 minutes. Worthing defender Gary Elphick misjudged a header which allowed Akokhia to steal in, round Banks and tap into the empty net.

Worthing improved defensively after half-time but chances were few and far between in the second half.
