AFTER the hockey success for Team GB at the Olympics, Worthing Hockey Club will be holding an open day on September 1 at St Andrew’s School.
The event will run from 10am to 4pm and will be for all age groups and standards.
Anyone interested needs to just turn up in trainers and sports kit, and a hockey stick if possible.
This season, the club will be running four or five junior teams, including two boys (Tigers and Wolves) and the girls’ Llamas team in Sussex leagues.
The ladies’ 1st XI will be playing in the South Regional League, after winning the Sussex League Premier Division last season with 20 wins from as many matches. There will also be two other ladies’ teams.
There will be five men’s teams in various Sussex leagues, including the 1st XI in the South Regional League. There are also two Sunday mixed teams – a national competitive one and a social side.
For the open day, the junior session is from 10am until midday, the ladies is from midday to 2pm and the men’s session is 2pm to 4pm.
