WORTHING Thunder Basketball Club lost 100-86 at home to Guildford Heat on Saturday (February 26) after a 95-88 win at MK Lions the previous night.
Thunder ended their 16-game losing run at MK when Adam Williams top-scored with 36 points and Sherrad Prezzie-Blue sank 19 and Shaun Durant 13.
Thunder looked on course to make it back-to-back wins on Saturday when they led MK 50-41 at half-time and were 70-66 ahead at the end of the third quarter.
They were up 78-75 with 5mins 10sec to play but Cleve Woodfork, Pepe Zafirov and Williams all fouled out and coach Gary Smith was given a technical foul as Guildford came back to claim the win.
Prezzie-Blue top-scored for Thunder with 30 points, while Woodfork, Durant and Mansour Mybe all sank 13.
Smith was furious with the match referees after the game for some of their calls in the closing five minutes. See his reaction in Thursday’s Worthing Herald, which is out on March 3.
