SUSSEX NRG Netball Club’s Tigers side remained top of the South Regional Division 2 table after a 53-37 win at home to Meon.

After defeating Meon by just one goal in their previous encounter, Tigers were expecting a tough game.

Tigers began strongly and increased their lead throughout the first half. They continued to extend their advantage during the third quarter, before they saw out the win in an intense and highly-contested final period.

Tigers player Emma Carré said: “It was a physical but skilful performance from both teams but NRG were strong from the start and this remained throughout the match, which led to a great win for us.”

On Sunday, Tigers travel to Aldershot to play Tongham Tornadoes.

TIGERS: Siobhan Phipps, Amelia Stubbs, Claire Siriano, Sarah Horton-Parsons, Natalie Richardson, Emma Carré, Jade Tomes. Sub: Rosanna O’Mahony.
