FORMER Ireland international Kieron Dawson has taken over as the new head coach of Worthing Raiders Rugby Club.
The 36-year-old was assistant to Will Green, who left Raiders at the end of last season, for the past two seasons and said: “I’m looking forward to it, although with a bit of trepidation following on from Will, who has difficult shoes to fill.
“I’m going to be the figurehead of the coaching set up but it’s a very important team – Dave Roberts, David Hinchliffe and Nick Buoy. It will be a joint effort and we’ll all work together.”
Dawson scored two tries in 21 international caps and was part of the Ireland World Cup squad in 1999. He also played for London Irish and Ulster.
