Raiders, who are tenth in the National 2 South table, entertain 12th-placed London Irish Wild Geese on Saturday, before a trip to third-from-bottom Henley Hawks the following week.

After four successive defeats, Levett said: “It is of course vital to get back to winning ways. No one game is more important than another, however we now face two teams, London Irish and Henley, who are currently in a very similar situation to ourselves.

“Two wins would certainly ease some of the pressure and would begin to return us to the top half of the table. We knew this last month was always going to be tough, with three out of four long away trips. However, picking up only three points from the four matches is nowhere near good enough.”

Levett knew Saturday’s game at Taunton Titans was going to be tricky and, after a 59-19 loss, said: “Indeed it was a very tough game, but was always going to be regardless of the injury situation.

“We have never won there on a number of attempts, so with a long injury list it wasn’t going to be any easier. Taunton are a big physical side, who are very difficult to break down. It was therefore pleasing to score first, unfortunately we were not able to maintain the good start.”

Raiders’ injury situation will be assessed this week, with some younger players again getting an opportunity against London Irish Wild Geese on Saturday.

Looking ahead to the game, Levett said: “We will have a good look at the videos of London Irish Wild Geese over this week.

“For us it is about focusing on the areas we need to improve on. Often the danger is to focus too much on the opposition and forget about us.

“We want London Irish to have to work hard for any points they get and to ensure we minimise our mistakes. We have to remember the game is a vital stepping stone for both teams.”
