Raiders suffer narrow loss at Blackheath

WORTHING Raiders Rugby Club suffered their second successive narrow defeat in National 1 on Saturday.

After a one-point defeat at home to Old Albanian last weekend, Raiders lost 16-14 at Blackheath, despite leading 7-3 at half-time.

Blackheath, who started the day third from bottom, have moved up a place to one below Raiders and now trail Worthing by just three points.

Raiders picked up a losing bonus point from the game and now have a week off, before they host leaders Doncaster Knights in their next league game on January 4.
