A PREGNANT horse had to be rescued by firefighters after falling into a ditch.
The mare became trapped in the ditch, which contained approximately four foot of water, just before 10.55am on Tuesday (June 30).
It had to be sedated by a vet before it could be moved and a hydraulic arm was used to help lift it out.
Crews from Steyning, Storrington, Worthing and Shoreham were at the scene.
