I can't remember ever saying that Russia's policies were right – so here's a first... I believe it was the right thing for Russia to move into Georgia to protect its citizens there.
Let's not forget that ethnic strife was rife, with Russian-speaking South Ossetians being killed.
Russians were heavy-handed when they took over, but now it makes sense for North and South Ossetia to become an
independent country.
Anything else would cause ever more bloodshed.
Sabre-rattling by the West, reciprocated by Russia, is all we need in a world becoming increasingly tense because of all manner of problems.
