A MODELLING competition has been hailed such a success it looks set to be taken to Brighton.
Worthing’s Next Top Models saw thousands of people vote for their favourite contestants, with the finalists announced recently during the final at Bar Release in Chapel Road.
This year’s winners were Amie Jade, 22, from Westcourt Road, Worthing, and Niall Scott, 20, from Highfield Cottages, Littlehampton, who beat off stiff competition.
Now, following their win, the winners will receive a professional photographic portfolio from Dream Portfolio’s photographer Phil Howard, and the chance to be part of Brighton Fashion Week 2012.
Judge Fatosh Gunaydin, owner of the event sponsors The Cut Company hair salon and Dream Portfolios, said: “We brought Brighton Fashion Week to Worthing and now hope to take Worthing’s Next Top Models to Brighton Fashion Week.
“All the finalists are to be congratulated, but the judges have selected worthy winners and everyone will be following their progress with interest.
“This event has been a lot of fun for everyone involved, and created great opportunities for people to establish new contacts. We look forward to repeating it next year.”
Winner Niall said the competition was “a great opportunity” to build his modelling career, while Amie said although she already works as a model she was looking forward to the photoshoot.
During the final, all 13 contestants appeared on the catwalk in both evening and beach wear before the final six were interviewed by the judges.
Alongside judge Fatosh was Brighton Fashion Week founder Liz Bishop, Brighton model Jocasta Aliix, rock vocalist Jim Stapley and R&B singer Ryan John.
