STAGE and television star Su Pollard will play Miss Hannigan alongside David McAlister as Daddy Warbucks when the stage version of heart-warming rags-to-riches musical Annie visits Worthing Pavilion Theatre.

Annie began life as Little Orphan Annie, one of the most loved and longest-lasting comic strips in history which inspired a decade-long radio show, three films and two New York stage musicals, Annie and its sequel Annie Warbucks.

The production at the Pavilion Theatre will follow Annie as she escapes from Miss Hannigan’s orphanage and discovers the luxurious world of Oliver Warbucks.

Su Pollard (Hi-De-Hi, You Rang M’Lord?) reprises her role as the dastardly Miss Hannigan and David McAlister (Hollyoaks, EastEnders, Brideshead Revisited) makes a welcome return as the billionaire businessman, Oliver Warbucks.

The memorable score includes It’s a Hard Knock Life, Easy Street and the legendary Tomorrow and alongside a side-splittingly funny script designed to ensure Annie is as warm and funny as the first time you saw it.

Annie is at the Pavilion Theatre from Monday, February 28, until Saturday, March 5, at 7.30pm with 2pm matinées on Wednesday and Saturday.

Tickets cost £15-£26 (concessions £3 off, children £5 off and schools 10+ £7.50 Mon to Wed only, one free teacher per 10 students).
