IT is just one week until Party on the Pier and workshops are taking place this weekend to build sections of the conga eel forming part of the celebrations.
The party will take place on Sunday, March 12 to mark British Tourism Week and a giant conga eel will dance around the pier and streets of Worthing.
People from across Worthing’s schools, community groups and businesses are invited to make their own sections of the eel.
Hazel Thorpe, Maybridge Keystone Club secretary, said: “We raised nearly £200 for the Maybridge Keystone Youth Club funds thanks to the hard work of several different independent groups who took part in the event.”
On Saturday, March 5, a section building workshop is taking place in the Guildbourne Centre, between 10am and 2pm.
All ages are welcome and businesses and community groups are invited to put their logo or contact details on an eel section for a charge of £10.
Anyone wanting to make a section and arrange a workshop should call Nadia Chalk 01903 207708, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.worthingartscouncil.co.uk
