How can you judge how well your council is performing under Conservative control?
And why should you vote for your Conservative candidate in the election on May 1?

Take a moment to focus on those issues that we know to be important to you:

Rubbish.

Worthing is rolling out a new and better system of rubbish collection.

From September, most households will have their rubbish taken from them weekly in a much cleaner and more practical way to suit their particular needs.

We have resisted government pleas to collect your refuse fortnightly.

Council tax.

We have achieved considerable cost-cutting in running your council and its services at a time when the government is cutting back on its funding to us.

And it gets better over the next three years, with real savings to be made from being more efficient at doing what you want us to do.

Challenges for us.

There are things that you want us to improve:

Health services – we're doing our best to support the KWASH campaign to keep the major general hospital in Worthing.

Level of crime – it's one of the lowest in Sussex but you, like us, think that a lot more could be done to make us feel safer.

Parks, open spaces and play areas – we've had to make tough decisions about how we spend our budgets on these facilities.

Climate change is having as much an effect as is reduced government funding on what we can do to maintain these areas.
