LIKE many of your readers, I have fallen foul of the Ann Street, Worthing, parking fiasco.
I have made a challenge to the penalty charge notice and received a rejection from NCP.
The reason given for rejection is there are "no parking notices in the area", therefore presumably making the issue of the notice legitimate.
Does this now mean that before leaving a car parked in a Worthing parking bay, one must search the street in its entirety, not just the official bay notice, to see if one can find an obscured and defaced notice saying whether one can park or not?
All I can say to those wishing to shop and enjoy the facilities in Worthing is BEWARE.
I have been back to Anne Street a number of times on a Saturday since I received my notice and there has always been a vehicle or two with a penalty ticket on it in the supposedly suspended part of the bay.
These two spaces must be earning a considerable amount of money for NCP.
Needless to say, I am pursuing the appeals process, even if it ends in court.
