IF Joan Thomas (Herald last week) wants to make an appeal, why not try to get WSCC to improve our pavements, which are so very dangerous in many areas, both with misplaced/cracked paving slabs and/or sticking up by an inch or more, catching the elderly or unwary out.
I managed to make contact with the county council in September last year to be informed that a survey in my area (Findon Valley) was to be carried out in late November/early December last, at which time any so called "damaged" slabs would be marked with white crosses and replaced soon.
To date, no crosses have been sighted or any replacements made.
It seems they wait until they are sued by injured people before they take action. Even then it's too little, too late.
Maybe Joan Thomas and others would like to join me in this appeal for common sense from WSCC rather than bleating saying they don't have the money.
