MYSELF and my family would like to say a very huge thank-you to everyone who saved my life in the early hours of Wednesday, December 30.
I suffered a major cardiac arrest at home and had to be shocked three times to get stabilised for the trip to Worthing Hospital.

After spending hours in the resuscitation and intensive care units, I was given emergency surgery that night by Mr Hat
trick, before spending 12 days on life support and under sedation.

When I woke up, we were greatly relieved there had been no brain damage.

After a few more days in intensive care, I was moved to high dependency for a few days, where I started walking, etc.

I am now, thankfully, home with my wife, family and friends.

We would like to thank everybody, from the 999 call centre, the paramedics and ambulance crew, A&E reception and resuscitation staff, all the doctors, nurses, consultants, endoscopy theatre and gastric surgeons, cleaners, porters and catering staff on ICU, HDU and the wards.

Without all of these people's help and support, our future would be very different now.

They have saved my life a few times while in their care.

We would also like to say a thank-you to all the families in the relatives' room of intensive care patients for all their love and support on this emotional roller coaster that every affected family suffers.
