How can the hospital fight germs with people like this around?

YESTERDAY, May 2, I had to visit the pathology laboratory at Worthing Hospital for a blood test.
When I left just before 2pm, I visited the ladies' toilet by the north entrance.

While I was washing my hands, a woman emerged from the next cubicle and went straight out – hands unwashed.

Within a few seconds, I followed her out, and watched where she went. She continued along the corridor towards the main hospital, and totally ignored the hand gel.

I felt so annoyed, not only by her lack of hygiene, but because of her total disregard of the hospital's infection control policy.

Goodness knows where she was going. I can only hope she was not on her way to visit a sick friend or relative.

How long does it take to wash hands and use the gel? There are notices everywhere urging staff, patients and visitors to do so. It's for the benefit of us all.

If the woman concerned happens to read this, I have only one thing to say – you are lazy and disgusting. Shame on you!

Mrs A Johnson
