WITH regards to the article in the paper about Hilda Hammond, aged 87, protesting about pensioners not being allowed to travel free on the buses before 9.30am.
I am a pensioner and I have to ask: WHY do they want to get on the bus before 9.30? They get free fares now, so they look for something else to moan about.

The workers surely should get to use the buses before and just after 9am.

Go back to bed for an extra half-hour. Perhaps with a bit of luck you'll wake-up as happy with your free bus pass as I am.

I Arge with you OAP that get free bus pass should use the bus after 9.30am, so the busses are not so overcrowed. They should let all the working pepole and school kids use the bus first

I agree. OAP´s should be grateful they have free bus travel in the first place. I use the bus every day to get to work, and have to put up with increased fares (as well as increased council tax) in order to subsidise free bus travel for the over 60´s. I have no problem with that, but if I were not able to get a seat because OAP´s were taking up space then that wouldn´t be fair.

Whilst we're at it, ban OAPs from all supermarkets between Friday lunchtime and Sunday night.
