I WAS appalled to read the report of the problems suffered by Matt and Sam Mitchell outside Chatsworth Road police station (Herald, last week).
This is another instance of terror legislation being used incorrectly.
To say that photographing a public building is a terrorist threat is insane.
How many times have we seen images of New Scotland Yard on the television?
The officers who Inspector Hodges was obliged to defend are playing into the terrorists hands.
The fear of fear is worse than fear itself.
It seems that these people are doing the terrorists' job for them.
Is it possible that someone might want to blow up our police station?
Yes.
Is it probable that someone might want to blow up our police station?
No.
The only way we as individuals can defeat terrorism is to go about our lives.
If this involves having your photo taken outside a police station, so be it.
The photo in your paper showed an image of the offending station.
You are not alone.
I found a picture of Chatsworth Road police station on the internet.
It is a good job that terrorists do not have computers.
