ALTHOUGH much has been reported on the recent bad weather, I feel I must jump to Yvonne's (postmistress Broadway Post Office) defence in response to Wendy Taylor's letter (Your Views, Herald, January 21).
Had Ms Taylor done her research she would have known that Yvonne is self-employed and the Post Office is not responsible for keeping her premises open.

Anyone who is local to our post office, and knows Yvonne, will know she always "goes the extr
a mile" to keep her customers happy, so any slur on her or our post office is uncalled for.

The situation was obviously out of Yvonne's control as she was hospitalised with pneumonia, pleurisy and a collapsed lung during our coldest winter for years.

It is testament to her dedication that she is already back at work.

Having done MY research, I wonder why Ms Taylor felt the need to battle the ice and snow to get to our post office when the main branch in Lancing is much closer to her?

Perhaps she had heard how friendly Yvonne is!
