THE 10th Annual Mayor's Charity Swimarathon has raised a record £10,000 this year.
This now brings the total raised since 1999 to just under £47,000.

This year a staggering 380 swimmers took part. The presentation was held at the Pier Pavilion on May 7, attended by 250 swimmers and their parents.

Whilst the mayor read
out every name, two players from Worthing Thunder basketball team and one player from Worthing FC presented to the medals.

The three trophies awarded to the top schools that raised the most money were as follows: Thomas A Becket Middle School,(£1,200), Chesswood Middle School (£1,400) and West Park Middle School with £1,900.

A special awards went to newcomers Broadwater Manor School, who had 18 swimmers.

I am very much looking forward to next year as it is the 10th anniversary of the event and also to reaching £50,000.

We would like to thank our sponsors, Michael Jones & Co, for the medals and the Indigo Resturant for the certificates.
