ON behalf of the Rotary clubs of Worthing and West Worthing, I should like to thank the general public and the Herald for supporting our carnival event.
We believe that the day was a great success despite the weather; the parade was larger and better than ever, the crowds gave more for our charitable causes and we think that everyone had a good time.

We have already had an enquiry from someone who
has not previously been involved, asking if it was too early to book a float for next year.

If the trend continues, we shall have to move even further up Grand Avenue next year to accommodate everyone before we set out.

Although prizes were were awarded to winners, there were no losers and a different panel of judges might well have selected completely different winners, such was the high quality and attention to detail of the entries.

I must not forget to thank the lorry firms who generously provided their vehicles and the drivers who gave of their time so willingly.

This was truly a community effort.
