The beachside bike lane
AFTER walking my grandchildren aged five years and twins of nearly two years along Worthing seafront, between the Half Brick and Worthing town centre, I would like to know why the bike lane was put next to the beach.
The children playing on the stones have to cross the bike lane to bring stones and shells to show me, while I am pushing the pram.
Although cyclists have the right of way, they should have some consideration for pedestrians and children enjoying our beach front walk.
Why was the cycle lane not put next to the road, so we would only cross once to get on to the beach?
Our children would be safe to play on the stones without the danger of being knocked over by a speeding cyclist.
