WELL, I am wondering who I put my bill into for the fiasco on Saturday morning.
An hour to travel from Bramber to the Shoreham flyover ,then to be faced with 10 minutes to get on the roundabout, and a solid mass of traffic east and west-bound on the A27.
And why?
The Shoreham Air Show.
Something I had hoped to enjoy.
I just feel really sorry for the people caught-up in the congestion who weren't trying to get to the show.
I aborted and went home just before I joined the queue trying to get up onto the A27, as I reckoned it would take at least another hour to get to the turning to the airport and then how long to the show?
What was the cost in people's time, fuel and frayed tempers?
As I never got there, I can only assume the entry gates were unable to cope with all the people trying to get to the show.
What this says about the organisation I find difficult to put into words that can be printed.
I'm sure if I or any other road user inconsiderately blocked several major roads for hours we would be facing a magistrate.
A laudable charity, but if you can't do better than this, then give up.
Tony James
