TWO weeks ago I wrote and had published a letter asking the police to comment on the hierarchy of crime which has developed in Worthing — the fact that a cigarette butt thrower was prosecuted while a chainsaw-wielding madman making death threats and a drunk lady who smashed someone's windows were only given cautions.
I was disappointed then to find no one from the police had bothered to reply to my question last week and wish to ask again for them to explain this madness to us all.

It appears to me any violation of law in this town is becoming a lottery on ho
w you are dealt with.

Let's also not forget about the nursery school van thieves who were let go despite being caught.

How is butt-throwing more serious than any of these crimes?
