TARRING PRIORY junior bowls players got the chance to play at the venue where young Sussex men have won the last two National Under-25 Singles titles.
Aaron Sexton, with his white beanie hat, who plays for the Brighton club, Preston, last week at Beach House Park, took over the crown from Stuart Holland, who played for Hastings outfit Polegrove.

Ryan Minton, Katie Minton, James Lace, James Howarth and Michael Howarth started bowling at Tarring Priory Bowls Club in Tarring earlier this summer. And they were invited to take part in a training session during the championships organised by Bowls England and the English Bowls Coaching Scheme. This was was also attended by the under-18 county teams from Kent and Suffolk.

England international John Rednall, from Suffolk, offered tips and advice to them during the afternoon.

Tony Allcock, Chief Executive of Bowls England, said: "Bowls is a sport for all ages and we are very keen to promote the game to the younger generation. Sussex has now provided Stuart Holland and Aaron Sexton, and perhaps one day we will see one of these five taking part at the highest level."

Bowls England is committed to increasing participation in the sport of outdoor bowls, and Allcock added: "Many clubs and counties now have well-established junior sections but if anyone wants help or advice on introducing young people to the sport we would be pleased to help."
