FORMER Sussex wicketkeeper and coach Peter Moores is to take time out from his England team headship work to say goodbye to Mushtaq Ahmed.
He will be at the County Ground, Hove, tomorrow (Thursday, August 28) to be part of a presentation that will take place on the pitch at tea time on the second day of the LV County Championship match against Nottinghamshire.
The presentation party, in response to Mushtaq's retirement announcement today, will also include head of Sussex cricket Mark Robinson and all-time successful skipper Chris Adams.
Moores was instrumental in bringing Mushtaq to the club and back into first class cricket. This decision proved a huge success and, along with the captaincy of Adams, inspired the unprecedented success of the last decade at Hove.
The club will be offering free entry to the ground after 3pm tomorrow to enable all well-wishers the chance to pay their respects and say farewell to the player who has already begun to become a club legend during his injury absences this season.
This could be the last chance to see gathered together at Hove, and out on the pitch where where it all happened, those who devised Sussex's most successful era.
