JAMIE BROTHERTON'S 88th-minute penalty earned Worthing a 2-2 draw with Ramsgate on Saturday (February 6) in Ryman League Division 1 South.
Rebels had taken a 33rd-minute lead through Ben Williamson but had a nightmare start to the second half.
Firstly, Warren Schulz equalised with a back post header and seconds later Glen Woodburn received his second booking for dissent.
Ramsgate
quickly made the extra man count when Schulz tapped home his second on 59 minutes.
But Rebels showed excellent character and had four penalty appeals turned down in the second half before they were awarded a spot-kick for a foul on Brotherton.
After Brotherton converted from the spot, new signing Richard Greenfield had an effort saved by Ramsgate keeper Sam Mott and Matt Simpson had a header hacked off the line in the last minute of injury-time.
