WORTHING Football Club's seven-game Ryman League Division 1 South winning run came to an end on Saturday (March 20) when Folkestone scored an injury-time penalty to win 2-1.
In the third minute of stoppage time, Folkestone's Frankie Chappell went down under a Charlie Farmer tackle and James Everitt blasted home the resulting spot-kick.

Folkestone had gone ahead in the 16th minute through Josh Vincent and limited Rebel
s to half-chances until Worthing drew level in the 84th minute.

Jamie Brotherton was fouled by Liam Dickson on the edge of the penalty area and Dickson saw red for a second booking, before Brotherton fired home the free kick.

Rebels' Evan Archibald then headed over at the back post before Folkestone snatched all three points late in added time.

The crowd for the game was 444 - Rebels' highest league gate of the season.

Chamal Fenelon missed the game through a back injury, while Paul Kennett (knee) and Ben Williamson (groin) both went off injured.

Worthing were furious with the penalty award. For reaction from boss Simon Colbran, captain Paul Kennett and keeper Alan Mansfield, see the March 27 edition of the Worthing Herald.
