Jack bolts to Invitation Cup all sets intact

GORING Table Tennis Club player Jack Boult lifted the Worthing League's Invitation Cup in front of 70 spectators at North Lancing School.
He won through to the final, then overcame Mark Forder 11-8 11-4 11-8.
In the contest of the eight best players to close the league this season, Boult triumphed without the expense of a set. In the quarter-finals, he took out Alex Rourke 11-6 11-5 11-5, then in the semi-finals Tony Catt 11-4 11-8 11-7.

Forder had a tougher time. He came past new Worthing Closed champion Gary Wilson in five sets, 9-11 11-9 7-11 11-6 12-10, then needed a fourth set to eliminate Steve Denman 8-11 13-11 9-11 7-11. Goring men Adam Todd and Kevin Green lost to Denman and Catt, respectively.
