WORTHING RAIDERS Rugby Club suffered their second successive four-point home defeat on Saturday when they lost 19-15 to Bridgwater & Albion.
In their previous home game, they had lost 10-6 to a last-minute try against Henley.
Raiders remain third from bottom despite Saturday's defeat.
At 16-15 down, Raiders had three penalty attempts to take the lead but Ben Coulson was just off-target with all three.
Then, with Raiders pushing hard for the win, they gave away a penalty which enabled Bridgwater's Luke Cozens to kick his side four points ahead, and that was the way the score stayed.
Two penalties from Cozens had given Bridgwater a 6-0 lead, before Coulson responded with a Worthing penalty to halve the deficit.
But a converted try by Bridgwater centre Tito Elisara moved Bridgwater 16-3 ahead with half-time approaching.
But there was still time for Raiders to close the gap to 16-10 when Coulson glided through the Bridgwater defence to touch down, and then kick the conversion.
Will Harris' break enabled Alex Nielsen to get Worthing within a point but Cozens' penalty took the game beyond Worthing's reach.
WORTHING: Power, Maslen, Kaye, Marshall, Harris, Coulson, Rogers; Cox, Jones, Levett (capt), McGowan, Roberts, Marler, Pointing, Storer. Subs (used): Rhys Blumberg (debut), Bennett, Sargeant, Farnes, Nielsen.
