Team REP inspired by bluebells


Three main medals on the Trail Run

LOCAL athletics outfit Team REP had a double second place in the fourth Bluebell 10K Trail Run around Angmering Park Estate and up finally to Patching village.
Tom Jackson (37min 09sec) and Gary Pearce (37-48) were second and third behind Chris Jack of Chichester Runners (37-00) after the trio broke clear in the men's race. And behind the first woman home, Korenjak Ulla of Ryde, Isle of Wight (39min 50sec),
was Angmering triathlete Nikki Treacy who was also in Team Rep colours (41-44).

Helen Hoyle of Barnet was a second behind Treacy in the final reach for the line after the undulating off-road course that culminates in a 600m climb over the final kilometre.

Pearce, Treacy and Hoyle were also the first Veterans home in the Raw Energy Pursuits-organised event.

Other best local finishers (485 finished): 17, Christopher Burgin (Littlehampton 40-45; 30, Scott Wallace (Worthing) 42-39; 34 Peter Gilmartin (Worthing Harriers) 43-04; 49, Alistair Glen (Steyning) 44-34;
76, Ian Hartwell (Dr Love & The Disciples) 46-48; 88, Richard Spiers (Goring) 47-38; 90, Lorraine Treadwell (Worthing Striders, 4th Vet) 47-43;
112, Peter Taswell (Shoreham) 48-51; 134, Mark Parsons (Worthing) 50-28; 137 Malcolm Da Costa (Southwick Strollers) 50-48.
