TWO police officers have been reported injured after a dramatic chase which ended with a four-car crash in Goring.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing three police cars force a dark green Ford Mondeo to a stop on the pavement in Aldsworth Avenue at around 11.05am today (July 2).
The driver was forced from the car and arrested after a struggle.
One neighbour said sparks flew from where the Mondeo had earlier been stripped of its front near-side tyre.
He added he had picked up shards of metal which had been shorn from the wheel into the road.
"They had quite a struggle getting the chap out of the car," he said. "I heard the police cars coming. Three of them were chasing the car. One of them overtook it just outside my house.
"Another one pushed the guy on to the pavement."
A police officer was seen to be lying on the ground receiving oxygen near the scene of the crash. Another was standing but appeared to be suffering from neck pain.
Another eyewitness was walking past and saw the aftermath of the chase.
He said: "I just walked past and there was two police cars smashed up and another car in between. There was a policeman lying on his back on the pavement."
