HERE are some of the crimes which have taken place across Worthing this week.
Four men attacked in McDonald's

A GROUP of men enjoying a night out with their partners were attacked as they ate in McDonald's.

The four men, three brothers and a friend, were out with their wives and girlfriends at 10.15pm on Thursday (August 14), when they decided to go to McDonald's in the Montague Centre, Worthing.

While they were there, three drunk men came in and started abusing staff, before head-butting a teenager who was queuing for food.

The four men stepped in to help the teenager, but they were then set upon by the men — leaving one of the victims with a dislocated shoulder, one with a cut thumb and two with black eyes.

Sergeant Nick Bowman, of Worthing police, said: "These four men were out having a good night when they were picked on by three others."
Police have discovered the three attackers had been thrown out of the

Sir Timothy Shelley pub in Chapel Road, Worthing, before going to McDonald's.

The first man was black, 6ft 2in, slim, about 30 years old, with shaved hair.

He had a gold tooth in the right hand-side of his mouth and had teeth missing from the left side. He was wearing a silver cross around his neck.

The second man was white, aged about 22, slim, about 5ft 8in tall, with shaved hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt with McKenzie written on the front.

And the third man was in his early 20s, 5ft 7in, stocky, with blond, spiky hair and a pierced eyebrow.

The attack was caught on CCTV and police are appealing for witnesses.

Lead stolen from Worthing roofs

HUNDREDS of pounds worth of lead has been stolen from roofs across Worthing this last fortnight.

During the last fortnight, £800 worth of lead, measuring 50ft in length, was stolen from the roof of West Park First and Middle School in Marlborough Road, Goring.

It was discovered missing over the weekend and reported to police.

It will cost £5,000 to repair.

And at 11.30am on Friday (August 15), residents of a block of flats in Grand Avenue, Worthing, noticed their roof had also been targeted by lead thieves.

Sergeant Nick Bowman, of Worthing Police, said: "These are professional thieves and the lead is never traceable."Schools are very vulnerable during the holidays.

"If anyone sees anyone acting suspiciously near a school they should contact the police."

More car tyres slashed in Durrington

THE number of cars to have their tyres slashed in Durrington this month has now increased to nearly 60.

As reported in the Worthing Herald last week (July 14), tyres were slashed on 50 cars parked across Durrington from the A27 to A259 on Sunday, August 10.

But this Saturday and Sunday (August 16 and 17), around 10 more cars were targeted in Salvington Gardens, Franklin Road, Whylands Crescent and Durrington Hill.

Police are offering a £500 reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever is responsible.
