AS the clock struck 11am on Sunday, November 8, the crowds standing at the war memorial in Chapel Road stood in silence.

Members of the Royal British Legion paraded alongside members of the Sea Cadet Corp, Army Cadet Corps, Air Training Corps, Sussex Police, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, St John Ambulance, British Red Cross Society, Scouts, Sea Scouts and the Guide associations.
