A MASKED MAN wielding a knife was left empty-handed after failing in attempts to rob two Worthing shops.
A man wearing a red scarf over his face and a knitted, woollen hat demanded staff open the safe at the Londis convenience store in Aldsworth Parade, Goring, at around 3pm on Thursday (December 10), before leaving empty-handed.

A man matching the same description then tried to rob the BetFred betting shop in Coronation Buildings, Brougham Road, at around 6.50pm later that day, but again left empty-handed.

The man is described as white, 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, wearing a light-coloured jacket during the first attempt and a dark navy puffa jacket during the second. On both occasions the man was wearing dark woollen gloves, a hat and a red scarf over his face.

Anyone with information should call police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Sheridan.
