The main pool at Worthing's Aquarena has been closed due to a "maintenance problem".
Worthing Council said today (Wednesday, August 20) it was assessing the impact, but that the pool, in Brighton Road, is likely to be closed for at least a week.

The small pool is also closed to the general public, but is open for the following activities:

Swimming lessons
Aquaerobics classes
Swimming club (Saturday morning only)
Parent and baby
Aqua-tots
Aqua-babies

The classes and facilities that remain open as normal include all classes in the fitness suite, the Pulsecity gym, the steam room, sauna and sunbeds.

The council says it will keep the public informed and issue updates.

Oh What a shame The Aquarena is closed though it saddens me that Worthing has not got a decent pool. The Aquarena is a dump. Both inside and out. In fact from the out side it looks more like something form the old eastren block. May be it could be renamed the Joe Stalin pool, though with the smoke stack it could be misstaken for a crematorium. To think some time in the not too disstent past your town planers give it there blessing I bet there house does not over look it. Most likley the same bunch who also blessed us with the Bowling Ally come Car Park. Not sure which is the worst. Down with them all. Vanvan.
