IT was smiling faces and sunshine galore at the weekend, when thousands of people descended on Worthing town centre to enjoy the sights and sounds of the annual seafront fayre.
The three-day event got off to a musical start on Friday, when people grooved to the sounds of the Band of the Blues and Royals and The Brass Monkeys at the off-icial opening in Steyne Gardens with radio personality Mike Read.
In Beach House grounds, Worth FM's beach party got into full swing. In the evening, crowds lined up to witness the torchlight procession and spectacular fireworks display, accompanied by the music of Carnival Collective and the Beach Bateria.
The display was delayed for 30 minutes following a disturbance near the launch site. People flocked to the seafront on Saturday to enjoy the markets, live music, Stevens funfair and air and sea rescue demonstration by the RNLI.
Daring stunts, stalls and low-level barnstorming were performed by the St Ivel Utterly Butterly flying display, with Denise Nowell, an organiser of the fayre, wing-walking.
It was her final performance. Denise said: "It went absolutely fantastically and there was a maximum crowd along the beach watching."
"I have been doing this for the past five years and have loved every minute. It is an experience I will never forget. I am nearly 61 years old and just feel my body is not as good as it used to be."
In Steyne Gardens, hundreds gathered for a free concert by UK soul band The Real Thing, presented by Splash FM and hosted by broadcasters David Hamilton and Dave Benson Phillips.
