IT is now up to the Secretary of State for Community to decide whether or not a controversial development scheme on Goring seafront can go ahead.
Worthing planners approved amended plans for the scheme, on land bounded by Sea Place, Eirene Road/Avenue, and including land at the south-east corner of the dinghy park.

A health centre and 117 homes are included in the development, which the Secretary of State must decide on because of its departure from agreed development policies.

Goring Residents' Association has been at the forefront of objectors to the scheme, and chairman Frank Lee said: "There are still lots of things to be cleared up, including highways matters."
