Event organiser Brian Parkinson said: “If there is a holder of the Atlantic Star living locally who was able to join us, we would be delighted to provide two free tickets to the first one who contacted us.”

The evening, to be held at Arundel Town Hall on Thursday, October 21 from 7.30pm, will hosted by one of the most experienced speakers on code-breaking and the Enigma machine, Dr Mark Baldwin.

He said: “The story of Bletchley Park and the world of code-breaking is a fascinating story that grips and intrigues people of all ages.

“During the evening there will be a hands-on demonstration of one of the few remaining Enigma machines as well as a whole host of illustrations which will bring the story to life.”

Thousands of the legendary machines were built, but fewer than 200 survive today, and the evening provides a rare opportunity to see an original four-rotor machine, of the type developed for the German U-Boat service in 1942.

For more information or to book tickets, at £10 each, call 01903 885806.

All proceeds will go to the Arundel Museum development fund.
